I want some 305/70 BFG A/T's. The local BFG retailer wants $230 a tire plus balancing/installation. Since they are the only game in town I thought there might be better prices online?

Thanks

Zach.

Oo. You may laugh but I have found that wal-mart has the best prices on tires. at least here and thell match prices from other people. I priced bfg a/ts 195/75/16 and they was 160 a piece and mounting and balancing was like 5 a pice so check there.

If you are very familiar with FOUR WHEELER, 4 WHEEL DRIVE, ECT there are many tire dealers that sell BFG and about every other brand. Summit, jeggs, National Tire and Wheel has great deals. There is the Desert Rat, 4 Wheel Parts, ect. They all are much, much cheaper then the tire dealer in BFE. Many have special low cost shipping on four, or like last weekend, I got free shipping on 6 tires and a winch fron 4 Wheel Parts. Just need to look around. You know how to get to the TDR site, so do a search and find tire dealers.

I was in Sams last night and saw some BFG 285/75R16 All Terrain KO they were $152. 09 per plus mounting and tax. Not to bad considering I have been quoted as much as $192. 99 plus mounting and tax at some of the tire shops around town. I think you may be able to go to samsclub.com and order the 305's and they will deliver them to your nearest store.

Who ever mounts then for you must be made aware that they need to find the best position for the tire on each rim, before adding weights. I learned this the hard way. I'm considering equal or balance beads next time around.

Good Luck

I bought my last set of tires from the Tirerack.com. I got Yokohamas that were about $40 cheaper than the local shops or the AAFES catalog would sell them for. Only problem is you have to pay someone to mount and balance them. I got it for free so it wasn't an issue. I was pleased with the service.

Watch out for the rules and regulations followed by the national chains (Sam's Club, etc. ) When I bought my 285 BFG TA/KO winter tires, Sam's Club would not install them on the truck because they were oversized. Their corporate rules do not allow them to oversize (or undersize I suppose) the OEM tires.

I had to remove the wheels from the truck and bring them to the store. They mounted and balanced the tires and then I took them home and put them on the truck.

tirerack.com gets my vote also. Before you order, search their installer data base. There should be one near you that will install them at a very reasonable rate. I just bought my second set for my jeep from Tire Rack. It has worked out well both times. :)

I bought tires for my 1996 3500 dually from Tirerack.com and saved quite a bit over anything I could find locally. NTW is one of their authorized installers, so I threw the new tires in the back of the truck and spent a Saturday morning getting them mounted up.

The last tires I bought, however, were at Discount Tire. They were a little higher than Tirerack.com, but they had a set of Michelin XPS Ribs for the 5th wheel and the non-standard high-load-rated (102) Michelins required for my wifes Durango on the shelf. Since we were getting ready to take the 5th wheel on vacation the following week, it was worth the premium in convenience just to go out Saturday morning and get the 5ver fitted up and some new shoes for the wife's Durango.
