Where can you buy a transmission filter for a 2001 Dodge Ram diesel/auto? And if possible what is the part number for the transmission filter? I have searched recent posts, and cant seem to locate the information i am looking for. Oh, and also, what type of gasket is recommended? Would a tube-type gasket be preferred, or the solid gasket type?

Thanks,

Tim

Mopar Filter

Geno’s Garage has some very good price’s on all our filters. Their transmission filter P/N:52118789 is a Mopar and comes with a cork gasket. This should work fine for the stock pan. I am assuming you are stock (signature?). If you are using a Mag-Hytec pan, do not use a cork gasket.

Why not use a cork gasket with a Mag-Hytec pan? Mine is holding up fine.

BTW - I prefer the OEM gaskets and filters. Genos's or the Dodge dealer has them.

Cooker,

When I installed my Double Deep, the instructions specifically stated NOT to use a cork gasket. Something about the cover not liking it and that over time, it will leak.

How long have you had your Mag-Hytec pan on?

NAPA and Car Quest both have a decent filter/gasket kit that or reasonably priced. No cork gaskets for me, thanks. They come off too hard.
