This coming May, my niece will be graduating from Le Tourneau University in Longview, TX. My folks will be driving their motorhome there for the graduation. I will be flying there and I'll probably stay in the motorhome with them. None of us have been to Longview before, so I thought I'd ask if any of you know of a good campground nearby. My folks said their campground guide book only shows one campground, 15-20 miles away in the next town. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Andy

Uh oh! Let's not start that again!

Actually, my folks are aware that there is a WalMart there, and they mentioned parking there, but they decided they'd like to have electricity without having to listen to the generator.

Sorry I can't help as far as camp grounds. Just be sure to find and try Bodacious Barbecue while there. Anyone in town will know where they are. Good stuff.

Campgrounds

We go thru Longview quite a bit and the one we use is on I20 just on the east side of town and right off the road,it is very clean and the people that run it are super nice. I dont recall the name but it can be found in the campground locator books.

The campground on I-20 at Eastman Rd? is good - also a motel on US 80 has camper parking and is also Ok.

Bodacious BBQ is great and Johnny Caces is outstanding.

Thanks for the information, guys. I did a search on the internet and found the campgrounds you mentioned. I forwarded the info to my folks. I've also made note of the barbecue joints.

Bo-DAY-cious! Oo.
