I finally decided that I am going to tap the outlet banjo bolt of my fuel filter for the fuel pressure gauge. There does not seem to be enough room to put in a regular 1/8" fitting, so I would like to install a 1/16" NPT Male to 1/8" NPT Female fitting instead. I have located the fitting (Autometer 3280), however, the tap is extremely hard to find.

I know that Holley makes one for their NOS fogger nozzle, but I haven't been able to find someone who has one in stock. Any mail order houses that could get me one quickly would be appreciated. :)

Finally found them at Dave Koehler Injection (Nitrous Oxide). He has them in stock (P/N 15990) for $15. 73.

I bleieve that this is a better method of installation than on the test ports which require a 45-degree flange. The commonly used -4AN fittings have a 37-degree flange which is why some people have reported leaks.

very well done--I knew you were concerned about this from the discussion at the RR mtg--again very well done and good info---chris

Try an metal tool shop or a machine shop supply. They will have all sizes. I usually just browse the yellow pages 'till I find something close to me.

SandDemon-

It wasn't that easy! I thought that it would be very simple but practically nobody goes that small with NPT.

Nos Police Have Been Alerted

I can verify that size is rather obscure. It is used for nitrous foggers, but other then that it's darned hard to find.

We better search that dually for suspicious blue bottles at the next Ram Runners meeting I think:)

I'm sure you'd love a little "JOLT" to get around those Beamers on the Hwy 9 commute!:)

1/16 npt tap

If you can get your hands on a McMaster - Carr catalog you can find just about any size drill or tap, plus many more tools.
