I know there probably are several places around that convert dually pickups to specialty trucks for plumbers, phone company, etc. style trucks. For some of these, chassis models were probably not used.

I would like to pick up somewhere in a 500 mile radius to NW Arkansas, a 3rd generation 3500 dually pickup bed.

Anyone know of a bed available near Dallas, Kansas City, Tulsa, or Memphis?

It would be possible to convert my 2500 to a 3500 DRW - wouldn't it?

Thanks

I've got one in my back yard. :)

But its not for sale. However, I would suggest checking autobody places and at aftermarket bed places (if they don't have them they should be able to direct you to where they went).

This spring we unloaded two new Ferd boxes for almost the price of the flatbeds we installed. They went to a body shop in Pokey, ID.

The DRW axle is wider. I did the opposite conversion and it was a walk in the park. However I dont know if there is enough length on the hub of the SRW trucks to accomodate 2 wheels in the back. Do some measuring. Also you dont have to run the dually spacer in the front wheel but they do bolt on and off. I have some pics of the rear axle and the conversion on my gallery so you can see the differences.

I am considering going to a flatbed so I might have a complete 2003 dually bed with line-ex available. How soon are you doing this?
