Why is my GCWR only 16k?

Where can I find a 7-pin trailer wiring connector? I don't need any wires, just the plastic piece. I checked at a couple of local parts stores, but couldn't find anything. One guy told me that these connectors are Dodge specific and that I'd have to get one from the dealer$hip. I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. Any ideas?

The OEM connector that the wiring harness plugs into (P/N 56038366AB CONNECTOR, 7 Way) lists for $13. 75 at your local Mopar parts counter. The plug-and-play feature made the dealer my choice. Of course, if you're not replacing the original, the plug-and -play doesn't matter.

Just curious, what is the plug and play? I would like to have the plug that has the 4-flat mounted on the side of it so I don't have to use the adapter when I pull a small trailer. bg

In this context plug-and-play refers to a 7-pin connector that the connector on the OEM harness will plug into. No wires to cut, etc.

Thanks for the input.

I think that the part number that Thomas mentioned is exactly what I'm looking for. I apologize for not being clearer in my previous post. I bashed all to *%&# my old 7-pin connector (and the cutesy little black metal box that it sits in). I can pull out the red plastic sliding key-lock-thingy (don't know the "technical" name for it) and the wiring harness is fine. I just couldn't find a 7-pin connector that matched up with the 12 small pins in the factory wiring harness plug. For 14 bucks, I won't have a problem going to the dealer to get one.

Thanks,

Dave
