I know if I ever had to pull my tank for a replacement, I'd be putting the thing in the bed! That would be the perfect fix for me. I don't use the bed, really. Besides, with my stacks in there I can't help friends/family move furniture!!! LOL !!!

Man, I would love an in bed tank.

The thought did cross my mind to make that white thing permanent. Only issue is I use all 8" of the bed regularily. :(

I just discovered that I have the ability courtesy of a vendor to look up Dodge parts to a certain degree.

I only know enough to be dangerous at this point but from what I am seeing using 89, 90, and 91 vintage trucks is this, the melted gob of plastic is not a sending unit. Your sending unit is hooked to the side of the plastic gob visible in the photo. Is it possible that you are asking for the wrong item???

Dodge persists in calling that gob a fuel pump even though it does not contain a pump.

I come up with Part # 52004637 for a 1990 Diesel truck.

See next post from me for picture.

If you have this covered already, just ignore me..... :-laf

You can't hurt my feelings, I'm a parts guy.

Thought it might be worth a mention.

Let me know.

Mike.

You are correct. It is not the sending unit. That is the arm. I am looking for the sending unit assembly. As in the entire cartridge.

BUY a waterbed. Problem solved:-laf

:-laf:-laf

The unit for a '90 gasser is only one part number off. Wonder if you could modify a gas one by removing the pump unit provided the opening, etc. is the same size??? It is quite likely that the vendor who produced these units for Dodge in gas and diesel applications would have used the same plastic tank unit/pump holder for either part number. It would certainly open up your options a bit.

Maybe Sag2 or somebody can lend us some hands on advice about this.

Here is the 1990 Diesel set-up.

Mike.

Yes, that would make sense. Did speak with a sending unit rebuilder yesterday and he said that could be done. The diesel does have bigger lines, but would swap my bottom part after the pump is removed.

Very nice pic. It is #8 that i need.

Well, issue solved! A friend in BC read this as I had sent him the link to see the melted parts, he then called a Mopar buddy, who told him to call his Mopar friend, who said for me to call him. (Still following? :D)

So I called him. He has one in a 89 truck! About an hour ago I got a call back. It is boxed and ready to ship! Oo.

Problem solved!

Thanks Bill! :)

Thanks as well to all of you for the help! VERY much appreciated! Please be warned. Do not damage your sender assy. They are a bugger to find! ;)
