Guys I have been searching for a truck for such a long time I cant even remember how long.

I usually use autotrader and Ive looked at some in the classifieds here, Im in NJ and it is almost impossible to find any that are in state. Does anyone have any special sites they use for searches or anything?

This is getting to the point of frustration.

What are you looking for.

Welcome to TDR 1st time poster. I would say he's looking for a Dodge with a Cummins since he posted on this site. Niro, your best bet would be a Dodge dealer assuming you are looking for a good used one. You can check dealers inventory online.

I apogolize I was so vague

Im looking for 94-02 Reg cab preferred

Must be 4WD

Although I would prefer a 12 valve, a nice 24 would suffice

transmission doesnt matter

Colors dont matter either

Im looking to spend a max of 10K...

Niro. I thought of another source to find a vehicle. Craigsist.org. Click on whatever state you want and look for vehicle for sale. Works for me. That's what sold my camper.

thanks guys

I totally missed my chance on a great one last week, but unfortunately the seller sold it right from under me

it was a 98 Quad Cab shortbed, with 108K miles, 4wd and auto SLT edition etc. .

he wanted 10,500 in cash... .

oh well, hopefully something shows up

Try these guys:

Although they don't mention selling trucks, the picture shows a lot of trucks out front, so who knows... even still, they may have a line on one for sale...

Another source is Kressley's on Rt 100 in Claussville, PA (not far from I-78, a bit west of Allentown). Might be a bit of a hike, but they have a rep for selling good trucks.

FWIW, avoid Ebay... I wish I had... :( unless you can see and test drive the truck before bidding... and make sure the dash and chassis VINs match...

buying, fixing, and selling is sort of my hobby. I JUST got my third CTD. I had similar needs. I wanted a 99-02 under $17k. Although nation wide, they are easy to find, local trucks may be harder.

Tip #1 - look at autotrader.com EVERYNIGHT. I missed about 4 of them before I finally got my 01. I also like ebay, lots on there, just hard to trust.

Tip #2 - My other advice is DONT BE AFRAID TO TRAVEL. A couple hundred bucks in lodging and fuel is worth a good truck. I liked looking in Arizona. Nice clean trucks.

Tip #3 - dont rush, trust your GUT. I drove 400 miles to test drive a truck, it was a POS, i stopped at another dealer ship and found what I wanted. My wife and i went for a month with only one car. I work days, she works nights. trust me, you can find a way to car pool.

Tip #4 - Go to Dodgeram.org and memorize the VIN codes so searching is quick. look at the VIN of the used truck, if it doesn't match what you want, move along.

I could type all night about this but i think these are the best tips. Good luck

Dave
