where to get 4bt w/p pump@ balancer

Do cummins make a 4bt with the p pump and the internal balancer, and what hp and torque ratings are they. What are they put in, bread trucks, boats or construction equipment or tractors, what years and what model if anyone knows.

I have found the newer (97 and newer) automotive rated engines are usually balanced. I found one a few weeks ago for $2000 with the counter balancer and inline pump, unfortunately when I went back to pay for it, it was sold.

Check for most any GM- P30 chassis vans such as those used for bread delivery. I prefer these to freight vans as they tend to not have a very heavy load put in them carrying bread racks around.

You can also find a few of the Fed Ex trucks, as well as Frito lay trucks with similar power plant set ups. I tend to watch out when buying any trucks from Fed Ex or UPS though as their drivers know only two speeds, key off and throttle floored, most barely let the oil pressure come up before they are off and running to the next stop from our door.

I work on bread trucks the P inline pumps started in 96 dont know abought balanced they still viberate alot some more than others

Does UPS sell their trucks to the public in Montana? Out here in Oregon you can't buy a UPS truck. When they get rid of them they go straight to a crusher. Al

So where does all of these fed ex, ups, bread and chip trucks go when they get wrecked or junked, you don't see very many if any in my area at salvage or any where else Ive been. If ups is crushing there trucks, why, and are they crushing everything or are they jerking the motors and sending them back to cummins?

CKnoop, what company do you work for, and what happens to the trucks when your company is done with them?

Does anybody know of a place to call that has these motors or does someone need to get hold of the company's that has these and see if there willing to sell them when there done?

Just trying to find out as much as possible on this matter, as much as these 4b's are used in so many things, you would think they would be easier to find, wish I could afford to go buy the new 170hp 4bt common rail motor but $10,000 + is a little high for a transplant project.

They crush them for security reasons; Can't be used for blowing up military bases, robberies etc. Good question about the engines. I wish I knew also... . Al

I work for IBC (Butternut Bread) when we get rid of a truck there isnt mutch left of it save every usable part and dont get rid of running 4bts. last motor swaps we have done we put used engines in I think my boss said the motors came from the local cummins place they also rebuild them there
