OK Just got my 2001 home and need some gauges before I can start bombing, 1st thing I need to get is a fuel pressure gauge, I don't want one the brings a fuel line inside the cab. 2nd I would like recomendations for a EGT and boost pressure gauges and what the best place to mount them. My new(to me) truck is a 2001(not a . 5) 24V 3500 Quad Cab 4X4 with a 5 speed. So bring it on, what is the best bang for buck, and where to get them(Quality 1st, customer service is 2st , price 3rd)

Ok now where do I mount the gauges ? this 01 don't have the dash room my 91 does. I intend to run 4 gauges, EGT, Boost, Fuel press. Trans Temp. Any photos would be a great help

Kyle,

Not sure on how your dash looks, but I got the Auto Meter triple gauge A-pillar which hold AutoMeter EGT, Boost, &Trans temp, all purchased from Summit at a real good price. I also have the Westach fuel pressure gauge from Genos, which is mounted where the cubby-hole used to be on my 99. I'm not sure if your dash still has the cubby-hole or not.

Just my $. 02

Boy I just called Summit Racing,

Sales person there is a real jerk. I was treated like I had just interrupted him from his dinner :--) :mad: :mad: :--) . I talked to his boss, he wasn't much better. :(

You can bet I won't call again:-{}

I like the Nordskog FP gauge @ www.intellitronix.com

otherwise I like the Isspro gauges and the three gauge pillar.

If you haven't gotten a box yet... get a timing box of any flavor you want and get a Blue Chip FMS. It has a built in digital tach, low FP warning, selectable 1* or 5* EGT gauge with a high EGT defuel feature, and a selectable 1 or . 1 psi boost gauge that is accurate to 55. 7 psi (limit of the MAP sensor).

You get to select fueling from 0-63%, Smoke control setting, When fuel enhancement starts. Pyro and Boost show automatically on the display then you get to select from a list of other parameters 2 additional displays.

The gauges and the box fuction are really first rate.

just got my guages....

I just got my DiProcol guages in a painted 3 pod a-pillar mount from Dave at Diesel Power Products. The price was good, the kit is complete with everything including instructions, wiring, connectors, adapters, etc. and the paint on the a-pillar is quality and matches my interior perfectly. And to top it off, Dave is a very easy guy to deal with and takes time to make sure that you understand what you are getting and how to install it. I will buy from him again :)

As for mounting the gauges, you can use the three gauge pillar and put your Boost, EGT and Trans temp there.

Then get a bullet mount from Geno's and mount it down by the transfer case shifter. Here is a picture of how mine is mounted.

Autometer on the a-pillar

Here is the Autometer Sport Comps on the a-pillar without the tweeter. Sounds like you got summit on a bad day, I use them all the time and have never had a problem, fast, friendly, on time. Well anyway good luck... ... . :cool: :D Also you would want to use the A-pillar as a replacement instead of a cover works better and you won't have to destroy your stock one.

Alternate place for 4th gauge

I put a Autometer clock in the cubby hole since I replaced my stereo, now I have time all the time. Just another gauge placement suggestion.

I used Geno's and bought Westach gauges (good gauges, good price), and the double "A" pillar mount. You can get the "triple mount" and then get the dual Boost/Egt gauge, and then the fuel pressure and temp gauges separately. You'll be able to get four gauges in the three hole mount and their easy to see and read on the "A" pillar. JMHO... . :D

I definately agree with damon!

I have Autometer Ultra-lite's, and they work great. If I were going to do it again, I would look at the Di-Procol's with the white face! Doug Hofeldt has them in his truck, he showed them to me at the BBQ before Diesel Thunder, at night the black numbers and marks turn to a great looking blue! Awesome looking gauges. Here is the link to them;

Another friend of mine just ordered them from Diesel Power and they traded the transmission gauge for a fuel pressure gauge at no extra cost. Even painted the Pillar mount to match interior. Oo. Oo. Oo. :D :D
