My 92 W250 needs a pump. Took the pump off it to put on the 93 D350 to haul more hay. I had changed the fuel filter on the truck (93 d 350), started it, and the engine kind of faded. It had been sitting 4 months or so when I bought it. I called PDR and was told in the neighborhood of $1000 exchange. Maybe the person I talked to didnt quite understand what I was asking about. There is no huge hurry to get it done, just want it doine right and for a decent price. I am willing to send it off if needed. WHo is in the Colo Springs/ Denver area that can turn it up a bit? THe guy that did my mom's pump wont turn them up, and I am not super impressed with the job he did on it.

Ps- I plan to do my own install. I will take the pump currently on the 93 and put it back on the 92; put the performance rebuild on the 93; everything has the stuff it came with. A lot of work, but I know th emarks on the "originals" line up and work well. I know, I SHOULD borrow th edial indicator from my former diesel mech neighbor, and I just might when the time comes.

Daniel,

I would tend to agree with you, there must have been some miscommunication... . if your pump is working ok and all you want is to tweak it up a bit, that will not cost you 1K.

If your pump is not misbehaving you can tweak it yourself. Trust me, it's pretty easy to do, unless of course you want some of the tricks of the trade done by PDR.

The general tuning and adjusting can be done by you if your ready to do the removal/install yourself, then tweaking should be no problem.

Most "normal" repair shops do not want to get into trouble with returns, complaints about smoke, and hassle from Bosch if a dissatisfied customer takes his complaints there... .

If you want to just tune it up, say the word and you'll get tons of help here. .

I dont want to just tweak it, it needs rebuilt. When I changed the fuel filter, it started, then faded away, and would not run any more. It was getting fuel to the injectors, just not enough. THe fuel was shooting up from the injector nuts 2 inches instead of the normal 8-10 when bleeding the lines. I thinnk something is either stuck or gummed up. It had been sitting for about 4 months before I bought it.

I want to get it done right and good (poor choiuce of words, I know) the first time. I already have it off; Neighbor had a dial indicator, and I have true TDC marked on the H balancer. Just need to get it done and put it back on so I can sell it. Running vehicles sell much better. Dont WANT to sell it, just need $$$$

Thanks a lot

Daniel

Ok, I got you now... also I can sure relate to the "... . just need $$$... . "

Surely there is someone local that can help with even a stock rebuild for you.....

Hey guys, any ideas ?????

Daniel, just a thought here. I looked on your profile to see where you call home but it wasn't there. (never mind this comment, I just reread your first thread and now I see where you live)

How cold was it when you were fooling with the pump and lines? Is there a chance the fuel had gelled?

Hi:

I believe there is a diesel fuel system shop in Colorado somewhere. I remember reading about them in Four Wheeler Magazine. The name of the place is Central Motive Power, I'll even get you the number. Okay, Central Motive Power; Denver, CO, 1-800-822-4332.

Hope this helps!
