I'm due for the annual inspection/emission test in Oct. , anyone have suggestions on where to go in MA? I've heard that there is no emission test for the first 2 or 3 years; true? I've wanted a Dodge/Cummins since 1989 and the finances finally worked out last year (barely) so the thought of someone driving my truck on a treadmill worries me, so I'm looking for a reliable shop; any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks.

bob , just go anywhere they do inspections , if they don't have the equipmment to do the test they don't do it , piece of cake , unless something changed since i got mine in april .

One word of advice and experience, DO NOT take it to a state run station. Take it to a private type station. The state run staions (as in in Medford, MA) will fail a vehicle for a dirty head-light. They tear apart your vehicle and let a rabid airgun jockey put it back together. My girlfriend took her car there and had to have it towed to a repair shop after the inspection station threw her gear selector into park at 30 mph.

The private run staions are much better to deal with if you're BOMBed;)

Brought my '99 to a small place on rt. 12 in Oxford MA (about 1/4 mile from the WalMart).

He does mostly diesel trucks. Lots of FedEx trucks, UPS, etc...

He was good. Checked everything, but was not ridiculous (dirty-headlight-syndrome).

Truck passed the emissions test with flying colors !!!!!!!!!!!
