Done two so far using the tie down bolt for the battery. On the second one we used a thick piece of starboard. Cut it to allow the filter mount to set a little above the battery. Works great and makes for easy access to change the filter.

Some folks mount their filters to the battery. I, not wanting that stress on the plastic battery case, made a bracket that sits under and around the battery. See: http://home. adelphia.net/~npmrphy/amsoil/amsoil.html for the lurid details.

Fest3er, nice install!!! I am impressed you got the dual remote to fit in that tight space. Your right about not hanging it on the battery tray because of the weight. It is pretty heavy. I installed just the bypass filter resting on the battery tray. The full flow is still on the factory mount. So far so good. No signs of stress on battery try.
