Please understand if this has been posted before I am not sure on where to mount the brake controller once it gets here. I ordered a prodigy and I am curious where everyone is mounting them? It says it has a panic button and it should be easily reached in case of emergency so I am not sure where to put mine. I am going to put gauges in cubby hole so that is out.

Any Ideas

Thanks

Well,

I mounted mine on the knee guard just over my right knee. I mounted it so that the Key FOB just misses it as it swings from the ignition key.

I ended up mounting mine on the knee bolster (low) just right of the emergency brake pedal. Now I will say when setting the emergency brake it is slightly in the way, another words I set it with the tip of my toe. I'm use to it though, an rarely ever have to set it. It was mounted there also on my last truck. :D

Brake Mounting !

I mounted mine as did LEerkes, on the knee bolster right side since I am right handed. Have had no problems operating it here and have not found it to be in the way either.

I've mounted previous ones down by the brake, and forward of my knee, but when I need the quick grab to fully activate the trailer brakes I want it handier than bending forward and reaching down. I mounted my prodigy in the left half of the approximate 2"H by 8"W by 5"D cubby just below the heater controls. It was easy to drill a hole in the back (actually popped some of the dash out, and that was easy too) of that cubbyhole large enough to slip the connector that goes to the back of the unit through. It routed nicely. (you might have to hunt a bit to find the truck receptacle as it is on the TOP side of another larger connector) The only problem with the cubbyhole location is that it is almost too level. I needed to shim on top of the back end and under the front (face) end to make it tilt just a little. Very minor amount did it. Now the brake controller is at about the same reach as the gear shift in a very accessible location. .

Take a look in my Readers Rigs Gallery. I have a picture of my Prodigy mounted on the knee bolster.

Thanks for the reply's guys... ... ... ... when it comes in I think I will put it to the right on the knee bolster. That seems to be as good a place as any I just wasnt for sure about the "panic button"

Thanks

I put mine in the cubby. I was a little concerned that I could end up crippled if I had an accident with it mounted on the knee bolster. Dodge recommends that we don't mount anything there and it was easy to put in the cubby anyway.

Just a thought.
