I need to purchase some 2 micron fuel filters for a 2nd Gen, tried Cummins West localy but they only carry the 10 micron are not interested in ordering the FF 5613, the pick-up market is too small for them is my guess. TIA

7 micron sounds right, I think that is the new standard mostly to trap the dirt washed out of olde fuel sytems by the new fuel. 10 micron was the norm for years, and this time next year would probly be acceptabe again as the ULSD should have evrything "cleaned out" by then. If the 7 micron flows well when clean, it may beome the common, if not standard, to have.

Here's something a little off the subject. Detroit Diesel Series 60 injectors since 2003 have had their injector nozzle size reduced down to 2 microns. Their factory filter, a 10 micron. Most aftermarket filters, 10 micron. Try cramming a 9 micron piece of junk into a 2 micron hole. It doesn't fit, and you just trashed your injector. Series 60 injectors used to be bulletproof, now if you sneeze on them they fail. I'll take the smaller micron filter anyday.

Where to purchase fuel filter's

 I called Geno's today to get some fuel filter's and they told me that they recieved a notice from DC not to use anything but 10 micron because using lower than that would cause a fuel restriction with the OEM lift pump... ... imagine that, maybe it doesn't pump enough fuel to the VP44 what do ya all think! :-{} thank heavens I thru that POS away over 3 years ago.
