I can pass along what I read yesterday, 3 diff forums had hits on them when I googled the bulbs, the guys talked about comparing the 2 and the word is the silvertstars burn out in a few months to a year, they liked them but they dont last, no one bashed the nighthawks.

Everyone I know who has used the silverstars has had the same complaint. They like the light but they just dont last long.

I have been running the Silverstar Ultra 9004 in my '95 for at least a year and so far all is good. My past experience with the standard Silverstar's was about a 1 yr lifespan in the truck and the wifes car would get 6-8 months at best even with the Silverstar Ultra's (went back to standard halogen bulbs in the car because it was costing a fortune). I have been wanting to do this conversion for my '95 for a while, so the last time Checker had the Silverstar Ultra's on sale along with the mail-in rebate I purchased 2 sets of the 9004 and 9007 Ultra bulbs (1 set for the planned sport conversion for the '95 truck and one set to replace the factory bulbs in my 02 sport truck), now I'm kind of wishing I would have got the Nighthawk 9004 and Philips 9007 bulbs Daniel Stearns recommends.

UPDATE. sports and suv harness will be here middle of next week. I will post some before pics at night with what I have post some pics of install and post pics of night time after. will get to a spot in the road with no other light source and hopefully a reflective road markers to see how those will respond with the light. so the harness is basic plug and play with the stock existing that I have there is a battery source I'm sure there will be instructions but is it pulling juice from pass or driver side battery. also would there be a ground with this harness? thanks not a sharp crayon with electric stuff (just a crayon).

super simple you cant mess up, land the big leads on the driver battery, plug into the driver side light socket, run the harness across the top of the radiator with the other factory harness zip tie nice and neat plug in the other side, 15 mins. .

what takes time is the cuts and treating the raw steel after the cuts. and how tight your bumper is to the grill and fenders, some lights slide out no problem others are trapped by the bumper. . mine required the bumper to come loose and pivot it down. . PITA!!

my truck is a 02 so buckets already are opened and I have a homemade bumper loosen 2 bolts on each side and I can swing it down. thanks for the reply
