Where to put small crane in bed

Folks,

Where does one put a small crane (#500) capacity in the bed? Bought one sale from HF for $60. Mostly going to use for lifting less then 200 lbs loads. Was wondering if at very end of bed next to the tailgate would work. Seems to be some reinforced sheet metal that would work. Truck is 97 2500 4wd club cab. Bed is usually tho thirds full with bed tank and two tool boxes. TIA

They work fine in the rear corners,just put a plate under the bed and bolt on with the crane. Did you get the one with the winch on it also?

Also went to HF and looked at cranes. I decided to use a 2 ton engine lift. I will keep the bottom of the lift as is and use for engine lift and make an adapter that swivels to mount the top section on the bed. I realize that it will not lift anything near two tons, but I like the reach and height this combo offers. At 150 bucks on sale, a good 2 fer one deal.
