We've been going to Crescent Lake, OR for the last few years in July. We stay for about 5 days. Usually, there are about 5 RV's, most with kids, all with dogs. We like it because during the week, the campground we stay at is almost empty. We have the beach to ourselves, and our kids don't bother anyone. We're looking for other places to stay that we can run a jetski and have good beach area close to the sites. We like going at least in to Oregon to get out of the heat in Reno. Where else is good that doesn't have RV's stacked on top of each other? Would still like the water aspect. If no water, then somewhere close to ride ATV's and dirtbikes. Any suggestions? Thanks

Haag Lake And Detroit Lake

You might try HAAG LAKE or DETROIT LAKE. I have heard these are good places to go but I am not for sure. I am almost positive that DETROIT LAKE is a RV friendly place. Hopefully someone that lives in that area will chime in. I have never been to either one of these places nor have i been to CRATER LAKE.

Crater lake is beautiful but the walk down the hill is 700 ft or so to the lake an no boats are allowed... . it a walk path only, and its too cold in the summer even to swim in... .

We like Ft Stevens on the coast next to Sea Side but its a big busy park, there's a lake for fishing, lots of bicycle trails, hiking and things to do and see. We spend a week or two there every summer... . no place for jet ski's or ATV's on the beach... ...

There is a link to either on the web...

There are several camp grounds on the south end of the coast where you can ATV, dirt bike and camp and use the beach... . but I don't know about jet ski's... in ID there are a lot of good sights to use your jet ski's... .

You should also try Prinville Reservoir is a good spot to boat, jet ski and there's miles of forest service locations for the dirt bikes... .

I would agree Ft. Stevens is a nice place. I was just there last weekend.

Prineville Reservoir is also great, has a state park and is boater friendly. Another one in that general area would be Lake Billy Chinook. Large lake with 2 or 3 different camp areas.

A smaller lake that I went to this year that was very nice is Loon Lake down by Reedsport on the coast. Facility Details - LOON LAKE RECREATION SITE (OR), Or - Recreation.gov

It is an older campground with some narrow roads and sharp corners. Large RV's can be a tight squeeze, but there is a sandy beach and is very popular for water skiing and jet skis. No hookups. Also down on the coast by Reedsport and Florence are the Oregon Dunes.

This is a great location on the coast:

It has a lake to swim in, sand dunes for the kids, an ATV park for the 4 wheelers (about 4 miles away), and full hookups in the campground. The only problem is that you will need to make reservations about 9 months in advance, during the Summer months, in order to get a campsite. I'm not sure they allow Jet Skiis in that lake, but there are others within a couple of mile that do ... Try this one:

I would agree also. We stayed there for 3 nights right before the 4th of July.

We stayed at River Park Campground on the Rogue River in Grants Pass, Oregon while visiting my brother last week. I highly recommend the campground and the Rogue River.

My brother swears by the Corp of Engineers campgrounds. He says there are several around Pasco, WA.

Here is one I've used many times... It's on the Snake River, has a boat ramp, and good sites, with water and power. The river is wide and slow, and lots of people use it for jet skis, speed boats, fishing and swimming. It can be pretty warm there, in the Summer, but it is right on the river... .

Maryhill State Park, on the WA side of the Columbia is quite nice. The COE was involved in it's design. Lots of riverside waterfront and grassy, park like sites. Maryhill Museum and a Stonehenge replica are nearby and a wine tasting room borders the park.

For jet skis I would go to almost any of the Cascade lakes off Hwy 97. Detroit Lake {Hwy 97 to Hwy 126} is nice but busy on weekends. The Clackamas river {Hwy 97 to Hwy26 to Hwy213} is also a nice area. I would definatly recommend a trip to check out central oregon, the columbia river gorge, and the oregon coast. The rest of oregon is mostly like Nv.
