I have searched for this unsuccessfully so I will bring it up for probably the millionth time. :D Where should I get a switched power for my fuel pressure guage. I would like to tap off of a secondary circuit. You know, a circuit that has practically nothing on it so that a few guages wont put too much of a load. Is there a way to tap that would look factory. Not those cheesy splice connectors that clamp over the wire. Yes I know I am picky but this is my baby, not my wife! ;) Shhhh, don't tell her I said that. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Accessory Outlet

I used the accessory outlet for switched power for my gauges. You can tap into it behind the dash without to much trouble.

switched 12v+

fuse #16 in the in cab fuse center is switched 12v+, and an unused fuse slot. i think little fuse makes a"painless" tap. for lights, i tapped into the ashtray light wire. easier than trying to get to the switch for me, and the light dims with the OEM dash lights.

These are pretty clean...........

Extend-a-circuit from Littlefuse. Gives you a seperate fused output so you not over drawing the circuit.

Fuse #8 is switched power on ours. Fuse #5 turns on and dims with the lights.

tap

On my 96 I tapped in to a fuse on the fuse panel using a metal spade connector made for this purpose. This then activated the relay for the Painless fuse panel. Any good auto supply store should have a selection of electrical connectors. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know what fuse you can tap on a 96 for the guage lights to work with the reostat on the headlight switch or do you have to tap into the headlight switch itself? thanks

BTW--I tried to pm you JRowe but they said your mailbox is full and won't accept any more mesages--Not sure if you knew...

Homerdog, you can use a test light, and stick it in the fuses, with the interior lights dimmed down, and when you find it,the light will come on dim, like the lights.
