I hope it starts with a 1, so it gets here faster! :) I have noticed that the trucks sell for quite a lot, I would not be saving much if I tried to buy one used, one year old...

I think the ones made in Mexico should have another $1,000 off the list price. I do hope it is made in America. I would like some toys from Mexico, like a 2001 beetle and a 1995 Dodge Spirit RT!

Tom,

My brother got our 1995 Blue Neon, DC has had problems for years with the color blue. Consumers Reports says to stay away from blue, all auto manufacturers...

I would hope the paint problems in Mexico are solved. I would like it here asap. I would like to qualify for the rebate. If it takes longer and I do not get the rebate that it is just tuff for me. My brother-in-law said that I might still qualify for the rebate if I have the VIN before the rebate ends???

Patriot Blue paint was a problem on our 1995 Neon. I do not remember where it was made. Poor quality paint makes me very grumpy...

I am waiting for the VIN, I have the VON... I wish I could see the status on the web. Heck I would even pay extra if they sold a video tape as teh truck was built, along the assembly line. Seems line the marketing guys ahve not exploited all the possible ways to make money selling/making automobiles...

Mine was built in St. Louis. It takes 2 days to build them. If your rebate runs out, they might still give it to you. Or, another rebate might start right away - maybe a bigger one. It seems like they have rebates going most of the time. Also, join the Farm Bureau for an extra $500. off. It costs $37. to join, and you must be a member for 30 days, so get down there asap. Even if you're less than 30 days out, your dealer might be able to make it work. It's also not uncommon for it to miss the ship date - especially if it's a Mexico truck.

Forgot my sig.

My 97 was a tortilla truck. No problems till I wrecked it. 98 - St. Louis, no problems either.

Current ride is from St. Louis, but 3 days a week it keeps taking me to Taco Bell for lunch. I'm thinking... South of the Border subassemblies?

Y2K Red Stealth Sport 2500 4X4 QC SLT+, 5-spd, 3. 54 anti-spin, 265-75-16 LTX’s (There ain’t no such thing as options, cause ya gotta have it all, including: DC’s dead cow/vinyl interior and don’t stop anti-lock brakes. ) Stock, but not for long. Oops, too late. What silencer ring? (More fun than my 98 SST)

I will check my sources to see if the rebate continues after April 1st. I will get my wife on Farm Bureau ASAP. I might too have to check into getting my CDL...

Wow! What an active topic (although half of the posts appear to be Smokin Joe. A couple of you have asked how I knew the date and time that my truck was built. Well, the empty beer bottles in the back seat led me to believe that it was a Friday night. #ad

Actually, if you check your Vehicle Safety Certification Label (left side B-Pillar), you will see a Month, Day, and Hour (MDH) of final assembly. Mine is 021822 so I guess that mine was actaully built at 10:00pm on a Friday night. I like to think that my shift was very Happy that evening (maybe they were on OT) as I've had no problems.
