Hey, smokin Joe, All 241 xfer cases are shift on the fly, and in the order codes, this is very confusing. You are able to shift the case from 2wd to 4wd while moving at speeds up to 55mph. The real difference is the torque rating. Yeah, I know that this is confusing, and I asked the very same questions when I was looking. Again, Check Dave Fritz's "dodge Ram Tech" website. Evan ordered the truck I have then went back a week or 2 later and decided to add the Travel Convenience group. They didn't cancel this truck, and the dealer didn't want a non-4x4 on their lot, so he told me about it. They made me a good deal on it.

Evan's Order #2 was biffed by a lot monkey the day after it arrived. . . hit a light pole and gashed the passenger doors and fender. Which brings him to Order #3. Which he has. it is the same as #2 except he changed to Dark Garnet Red this time.

I was feeling some guilt (OK, not that much) because I was driving around and loving every minute of my truck while he was waiting for his #2 to show, only to have it creamed. Then wait for number 3. He had to wait 7 weeks for his after mine arrived. Luckily they were very fast at building and delivering the trucks when they were ordered.

Could the dealer have canceled the order? I am trying to get the HD trans case added to mine, it is said to be finished in 2 weeks, but the DC zone manager has not replied to the dealer yet!

Maybe I shouldn't have pushed to have them fill it up. Oh well, their body shop made'r look like new and I don't have to regret putting the 1st dent in it. #ad


I think somebody's really got it in for Evan though.

Is your truck on the train or in the lot? I hear that the 6 speed transmission had a recall and they are holding all the trucks in the lot till they are repaired. I ordered a 5 speed, we shall see if I get mine first. The economy is in such poor shape that I expect DC to keep rebates for quite some time. Some of the GM guys at work are saying DC is going chapter 11...

Mexico here

oddly enough i was talking with an electrical engineer from the St. Louis plant and he said that the Mexico plant has the lowest rate on warranty problems and it is where they go to study how to do things different in the other plants.
