... no, not my waistline!!

Up until very recently, my wastegate would blow at 28psi. . I saw 30 once, pulling a small (1200lb) trailer up a small hill at about 100mph

Yesterday, I "got on it" and glanced over at the boost guage. 34 :--)

Turbo sounds a little roudier, as well.

The only thing that's been done since 28-30 has been an oil change... nothing magic or fancy, same ol' Delo 400, so that should be a non-issue.

a couple of months ago, at a NHP's "suggestion" I had a 4" "glasspak" muffler installed, thereby mellowing the straight pipe that I'd run for the last 3 years.

Do wastegates go out of adjustment, and, if so, do they go the direction that mine might have? If so, should i do something about it?

Rich, do you have access to an air compressor? If so, set the regulator at 30 psi and hose clamp the hose going to the wastegate onto an air gun. That way when you squeeze the handle you can watch and see if you are getting full travel on your wastegate. You can also remove the backplate on the turbo to watch and see if the "door" is fulling opening or staying closed.

There are wastegates that freeze up, not a real expensive fix either! Good luck.

thanks, Eric, but much to my dismay.....

... . you didn't mention the use of a hammer :(

Yes, I do have an air compressor, so I'll print this and use it as a reference... rm
