I just flushed my coolant about a month ago. Its been a couple weeks since I checked it and when I checked it last night the reservoir was completely empty. My temps have been normal with no overheating. I recently replaced the water pump and thermostat. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on here? Thanks in advance.

If you fill it slow it should self-burp. Even with being careful filling mine I had to go back after a few miles of driving an top it off.

I suggest topping it off and seeing if it happens again.

Keep checking it. If it keeps going down, you have a problem. However, my guess is that it is a bubble that did not get out, and now has. I bet it holds good now.

The last time I had to change the water pump, 9 mo. ago. I just removed one of the threaded pipe plugs from the head, filled until fluid came out, installed plug and topped off radiator. I had no problem with an air bubble.

That's the correct way to do it:)

Turns out it was my lower radiator hose. Which was simple enough to change once the fen fender well was out of the way. The factory clamps were a major pain in the *** without the right tool (which I don't have)

Anyway after changing out the lower Rad hose I pulled the thermostat housing. Filled thru thermostat housing. Put therm housing back on and filled Rad. Capped Rad. Filled reservoir appropriately. Hasn't lost a drop yet and that was a week ago. Thanks for the advice everyone.

One way is to keep adequate level in the overflow bottle. When the engine cools it will draw from the bottle to top its self off as the trapped air is removed. Takes a couple trips of operating temp to do this.

timelessconstructionllc,

I hate the constant tension clamps too. Maybe it I had the correct tool... ... I replaced all of them w/ worm gear clamps.

Low coolant level

When I first go my new truck I had the same issue. A week later, the dealer refilled it the first time, about 1. 5 quarts worth. About 6 weeks later I checked it and it was low again. So I bought a gallon of the good old HOAT (expensive) antifreeze and refilled it a second time. About another 1. 5 quarts. I thought the same as you, it must be going somewhere. However it has remained full since. I replaced the coolant at 5 years and the same thing happened. It took several heat up/cooldown cycles to get all the air out of the engine. Ken Irwin

Last time I refilled my coolant it took a couple of trips to get all the air out. Have to get it hot enough for the thermostat to open and get all the air out of the engine. I would give it some time.
