I'm wiring an electric fuel pump for my in bed tank and need to figure out where to get power. I would like to tie into a fuse panel if possible rather than cut into some mystery wire. I will have an in dash switch and a fuse if I don't tie into the fuse panel. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Straight from the battery(s) would be my choice. And then through a Fuse, switch and relay.

If not f/batt then you could use the cig lighter or power port power, both of which would already be fused.

I agree with the battery idea. However I found that the more leads you run off the + terminal the more corrosion you get, so I ran a heavy red cable from the battery positive post to a waterproof circuit breaker, mounted on the firewall in my case, and then ran the leads from the other post on the breaker to the item that needs the power. This way there is only one cable going to the battery. Now I am NOT talking about the cheap little 20 amp ones most people use for trailer wiring. Here is a picture of mine. If I remember I bought it at Kenworth. I went even further as the wires then run to smaller circuit breakers and relays mounted below the steering wheel to power my accessories. Over kill in some cases but then my buddy is an automotive wiring guru. David
