Where's the CHEAPEST place On-Line to buy a new Oil Sending Unit for a 12 Valve engine ?? Truck is a 4WD with ABS.

Who makes them and what is the part # I need ??

Joe is right on, when my 12 valve sender went south I bought one at NAPA. I don't recall the exact price but I think it was in the $25-$30 range.

My research reveals this a VERY VERY COMMON problem on Cummins Diesels.

Here is the part # for 12 Valvers..... 3923200 They normally cost between $30-40.

FYI, the Oil Sender is the SAME part # used in 360 and V-10 GASSERS!!

My oil sending unit is the original. I did remove it once. No special socket. I think the base of it is square. I found a wrench that fit it. It's just pipe thread so once it is loose you can unscrew it by hand. I have remoted the sending unit because I installed a T fitting for a marine oil pressure sending switch. I have a large red light on my switch panel to let me know when oil or fuel pressure is low. I have plans to put more things on that alarm light. I used a grease gun hose to remote the oil pressure sending unit. That may be why it has lasted so long. No engine vibration.
