Wheres the NV5600 vent line?

Gentlemen.

Alright I found the vents for the axels and the transfer case but where is the vent for the ol 56 Honey?. Each oil change and filter I do I like to gently blow some compressed air through the vent lines to make sure there is no blockage. On my 99 years back I kept blowing pinion seals on the Dana 80, it turned out to be a blocked vent line on the axel .

Now I know there has/should be one! I got my hands way up and around but ??. What about the main shaft seal?, how does it relieve pressure with oil temperature flucuations?.

Never noticed ANY vent on mine when I did my LUK clutch...

There is no "vent line" there is a vent in the rear tail housing case on the top right side. Should be the same as the earlier 6 spds. The vent is a little "fitting" that screws into the case and has a little tin cap that can be spun to make sure it is not pluged up. If you look in the most recent TDR mag on page 89 there is a add for Bluthenthals in that ad you can see a pick of the 6 spd on the upper left of page the vent is just barley visable there, about two inches forward of the transfer case mounting flange.

Thanks, for the info it's just that this is my first 6 spd and we are still getting used to each other. These vent lines are probably one of the most overlooked items that should be checked each time you are servicing you truck, I like to do it each time I do a lube oil filter .

Not a bad idea. I had a Jeep with a 247 tc. Thing started leaking fluid all over the floor. The vent was on the end of 4' of hose behind the cylinder head. It was made out of plastic with a piece of paper in it. Pulled that off and you could not blow through it. Put a new one back on. No leaks. If you were anywhere dusty it would plug and leak.
