Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) where's the towing power?

I have a stock 2002 5spd. Runs smooths and feels powerful under no load. Hook up my 8000 lb trailer and it tows fine until I hit 45mph then she struggles. Sounds like the turbo stops whining and like the engine is miss firing much like a gasser would. I have 8-10psi fuel pressure wot but no other gauges. Fuel filter is changed regularly. Any ideas? Thanks

For some reason there is not enough fuel. Maybe several areas, such as the injection pump, electrical problems, ecm or fuel line restriction. Need someone to check and test all of the systems.

Cycle the key on and off leaving it on the third time. Wright down the code that show on the OD and come back and post them. SNOKING

Maybe you're losing boost due to a cracked or unsecured boot. You might not be generating enough boost with no load to notice. Without a boost gauge, you really can't tell.
