I ordered a set of 4 from Sam's Offroad about 3 weeks ago. I wanted the in cab controls and they told me the entire package would be sent UPS the following day. Only had to come form OK to TX. About 4 working days later the shocks showed up but no in cab control kit. When I opened the shipping box, the boxes the individual shocks came in looked like they had been around the country a few times. Lots of tape and dog-eared on the ends. The shocks themselves looked ok but I was short one red neoprene cover. Called Sam's and they said they would ship me another cover and the control kit immediately. Yes, the four hundred twenty or thirty dollar charge was on my credit card the day after I ordered the package. Anyway the red cover thingy came within a couple days but I haven't seen the control kit yet. In all fairness, I have called them two more times and they told me it "got lost" and I should have it in a few days. I won't be ordering from Sam's again if I can find what I want elsewhere.

Just my experience, hope you have a better one. :(

Call these 2

I've had good luck with Summit Racing and Jackit.com for all my suspension needs. So far they have had the best prices and fast friendly service and shipping. This is my experience only of coarse. And to be honest I have ordered multiple times from both and have never had a probelm. Good luck... ... . :cool: :D

I have had good luck with www.desertrat.com when it came to ordering rancho shocks for my 97 dodge, fair pricing. Another place to check with is www.4wheelparts.com because they have a huge inventory, very knowledgeable, and have had good prices for the things I have bought from them (never have bought shocks from them though).

I went to jackit and had great luck. I got four Rancho RS 9000X(the nine speed adjustable). They were delivered in four days and worked great. All to my front door for $350. 00.

Rancho

Do you have part numbers for the shocks? I e-mailed Rancho last Friday & got their reply today saying they don't have an application yet for the 03 2500 4X4 with stock height springs:{

I used Sams but not in the future, same service as above.

3500 srw

RS99221 or RS9221 front

RS99274 rear

I've heard recently that Bilstein is now making an adjustable. Anybody know for sure? If they don't I'm back to the Rancho 9000x's. The non-adjustable Bilsteins might be a good shock, but if you have a heavy load (like a large slide-in camper), you need maximum dampening. Unless someone else makes a shock with as much dampening as a Rancho 9000x on level 9, that means Ranchos again for me.

Dave

ps. Ranchos web site has listings for '03's last time I looked.

I never did get my in cab controls from Sam's so ended up sending the shocks back. Had to dispute the charge on my credit card but finally got everything straightened out and reordered from Four Wheel Parts in Ft. Worth. Placed my order last Friday and they came Tuesday. Everything was clean and new looking and the boxes had not been opened. What a difference.

This must be a small shop because the guy that took my order really wanted to please me. He went back to talk to the installer twice when I ask questions that he didn't know the answer to. A lot better than trying to bluff his way through the sale. When I told him what I could get the system for at Sam's (I didn't tell him about all the trouble I had) he ask his boss if he could meet that price ($419. 00) and even with tax and shipping he said he could. They'll get my business next time. FYI Sam's didn't have to charge tax because they are in a different state.

I'm busy right through Thanksgiving but then the installation begins.

No, they do not make an "adjustable" shock. But a true gas pressurized shock such as the Bilstein is light years ahead of the crap that Rancho calls shocks. Take it from a guy who's thoroughly tested both. :)
