Mike From Palmer Ak,

Just installed an Edge EZ box on by 02 H/O. Very impressive power gain But after pulling my Haulmark back from Kenia I noticed my Exhaust Manifold and Turbo housing are turning blue from the heat. Is this an indication that I am running to hot or is it normal and nothing to worry about.

Mike, I recently installed the Edge Comp on my new '02, and after a 1200 mile RVing trip up along the Oregon coast and back, nothing outta the ordinary visible anywhere in my turbo/exhaust tract - in fact, it's staying "new" looking longer/better than did our '91 in the same scenario with the same trailer with all the Banks mods...

Sounds like yer EGT might be a bit high...

Sounds Like I better get some guages

Where do they work best, before or after the turbo.

I would have gotten guages with the box but the Edge guys said I wouldnt need them with the EZ.

The EZ probably won't push the temps up TOO high, but, install the gauges. Then you know what is happening before your are in the danger zone. Besides there is a wide A-pillar just begging to be filled up.

MANY fellas claim the EZ and Comp actually REDUCE EGT's from stock operating values - didn't have guages before the Comp install, so can't say ~ but I *can* say that pulling our 7000 lb 5er up long 7% grades with the Comp on max (5x5), I can't force EGT above 1200 no matter WHAT I do with the throttle - and I swear that with the Comp, I could top the Sierras at better than 90 mph pulling that load if I wanted!;) :D
