I'm about to spring for some amsoil and an ORU cover (Pretty sure the $$$$ Mag Hytec won't fit with my SB and 35" spare). Which of the gear oils are recommended for my 03? I have the anti spin but it's not the clutch type so I don't think it matters.

Amsoil 2000 75/90. Did you get the cover yet? I am interested to see how it fits with the 35" spare, my PML cover only added 1 quart over stock and it is super close to the 265 spare when the suspension compresses.

Tell me more about the PML, ORU also add's just 1 qt but it's still out another month before they are available.

They are made by PML, thier web site is www.yourcovers.com The covers are pretty nice, a couple things I like about them are they use all the mounting bolts and you can get them unfinished, powder coating will make the cover hold in more heat. They are reasonably priced compared to what else is out there. I have a couple more pictures in my reader rig.

Stupid question, but here goes anyway

what number rearend cover to order the PML? I don't know what kind of rear end i have!

thanks.

You want the 9511 for the AAM 11. 5" ring gear, be sure to tell them it is for a Dodge as there is additonal machining they do to clear the ABS gear that is mounted to the ring gear that is not on the GM AAM 11. 5"

Bertram65 :

As far as the use of all mounting bolts on the PML... does the Mag Hy-Tec not utilize all of the differential bolts when swapping out covers ? What method do you use to determine when it's full... . the confusing . 25" below fill hole +/- . 25" OR do you fill it till it runs out the fill hole ? I just changed my rear axle fluid today and I'll probably get the PML in time for the next fluid change. (Nice pics of the PML in your gallery, too. )

I'm pretty sure the Mag does not use the lowest center bolt hole. I fill it till it starts to come out the fill hole, just about 5 quarts.

One more ?????.......

I just bought some more axle fluid today & I have but one more question..... Does the front differential also have the reusable gasket similar to the rear differential ?
