Which axle do I have?

2006 SRW 3500 mega cab 4x4. Trying to exactly determine whick axle I have (rear)



I noted discussions saying yes anti spin additive, and No additive. Service manual says additive yes for Trac-loc axle but No additive Trac-rack/EL... ... is there a build code that will tell me whick one I have?

Should be a 11. 50 AAM (American Axle Manufacturer)...

The additive was not needed in the beginning, however there are times where it has been needed to cure chatter. If you change oil and it starts to chatter afterward, then you need additive... most gear oil has a small amount of additive in it already. So change the lube and see what happens... add as needed.

Ohh, and the LSD is a trac-rite. The trac-loc is a Dana axle part... in the older trucks.
