Low Boost Problem?

I'm trying to decide what's best to spend my $ on next, as I already have the 'EZ' and I am going to get the transmission upgraded soon:
So the following is what I'm thinking of:
275RV injectors + a 4" turbo-back exhaust system;
or just DD 2 injectors.

My boss who has a PSD said the 4" exhaust
was one of the best mods he's done(Banks)to his Ford.

R. Bedliner + other stuff.
Fact:The First Fords' had 'DODGE' Engines! The new PSD's need them!

Get the DDIII's and if it's to much power for your taste then sell the EZ. There is nothing worse than spending a saturday installing injectors only to decide a few months down the road that they are not enough! Trust me I know #ad

at the n. w. bombfest rob helped me install my stealth dd2's on my truck and let me tell ya this thing runs. i'm going to get it dyno'd thursday. i would recommend the ez and dd2's. with my stock air filter and exhaust i can't get my egt's to go above 1300.

Jim,how does the clutch seem to be handling the combo of DD2's and EZ?

Robby,

My personal take would be the DD 2's if those are the only two choices. I would much rather recommend going straight to stage 3's, since that is just what I will be doing at the April 7th Modesto meet at Brandon's shop. So, if you'll be there, you can see how my truck runs with them in it.

I spoke with Nowel for quite some time on the phone last week, and he and I pretty much agree that it is better to just go for the gold right off, rather than piece meal upgrades. But of course, you may not want to go all the way to so high a BOMB level as stage 3's, which is perfectly fine.

Just my $. 02.

Bob, you didn't say what you will be using the truck for, any towing?
Since you are stock and have the EZ, the 275's will be almost too much for the stock transmission, especially if you tow. You will be able to slip the lockup, easily.
Any more injector and this will be even worse.

Fred is absolutely right. 275's and the EZ will make the transmission beg for mercy. Any more and it will die in short order.

Don't be afraid to get the stage III injectors if smoke is your only concern, I have them in my ETH and I can do an easy start with very little smoke. This is with the EZ on setting 1 (most aggressive). Yes, they can put out a short but thick cloud if I step on it before boost is up, but it's not as bad as you might think. Do plan on upgrading that clutch if you go beyond a EZ and 275 injectors, it may hold initially but will not hold up for long with that much torque. That being said, the stage III's really rock with the ETH.

I have been real happy with the Power Edge. With the PE on level 3, it made 282hp and 598ft-lbs on the dyno.

The clutch was holding fine including full throttle blasts until I ran it with the 275hp injectors. Slipped it a few times and it won't be going away now. No smoke no problems.

After a new clutch, I will be sending the PE back for a power adjustment.

Robby,
I'd say get the injectors. My 2000 Ram has the manual trans and DD II's. With the injectors and DD boost module it dynoed at 300hp 650tq.

CUMINNTSTRKN,

This is the setup that I'm doing on my 99 3500 QC Auto with 3. 54 gears. Do you do any towing with yours and if so does the egt's still stay below 1350? What about smoke with this setup! Have you had it dyno'd and if so what are the numbers? Thanks!

W. M.

with the ez on it's most agressive setting i can make cars disappear if i stomp on it with no boost. i will be putting the ez in the middle postion and this should take care of the smoke. when i had my truck dyno'd with just the ez i got 252 hp and 582trq these are uncorrected #'s at almost 5000ft. i will be dynoing my truck tomorrow with everything and i will post the results. i haven't pulled anything yet but i slowed down to 1100 rpm in 6th and stood on it going up a pass and when i hit 90mph i never went over 1300.

CUMINNTSTRKN, Sp?
You dynoed stock with just the 'EZ' that high?
You my have notices that my uncorredted Dynojet numbers with my 'EZ' were 202 hp/426 Torque.
I am soo depressed.

this isn't absolutely true , i put about 20k miles on my stock 2000 trans with a VA , 275's and a HOT PE , about 10 runs down the 1/4 and some pretty nasty burnouts , not a problem , i may have slipped the convertor once . though i don't recommend it , the trans can survive . i should have upgraded the trans first though , may not have need all the BOMBs i added now i'm getting all the power thru the transmission when the TC was unlocked and 275's alone aren't so bad .

robby , cumminntstrkn has an 2001 ETH, more hp (245hp) to start than your 2000 ETC (215 hp)

As you said. . please make sure you post the results. I have the same setup and am also about 5000 ft elevation, so I am curious to see how your numbers turn out.

Thanks
