Anybody got the scoop on a good battery to put in my 93, I have not bought a new battery for at least 5yrs, and i know there is a huge variety to choose, maybe somebody can save me some time, with some good input. I'll be buying it in the Everett WA, area. Truck has been in storage for many months, I'll be driving it back down to CA, next week, providing everything is sound prior to departure. Thanks in advance. Joey G.

I have been using 'Interstate' batteries since my original one went out.

They have plenty of cranking amps and I have not had any problems with them.

Also, it's the only battery I have found that will last in my Toyota with all its electrical goodies.

Not sure if they are available in your area, but I strongly reommend them.

8 year old Interstate in the '92. Also have two more in tractors. Never ran out of juice starting even at -20*F. Interstate is the only way I would go.

Optima

Check out the Optimas too. They are more expensive, but a much better design than the typical battery. I have had an Optima yellow top in the Jeep with a big block and a big winch for several years. Still going strong and it gets used hard when doing tough winch pulls and starting a hot big block.

Interstate now owns Optima by the way.

Both 1992 First Gens have Interstate Batteries in them... .

I will probably try the Optima Battery next go around... . But I've had zero problems w/ the Interstate.

Batteries

Just went through the battery scene. Get a Group 31 with at least 1050 cold cranking amps @ 0 degree's, 3 year warranty.

Optima does not have a battery available for our single battery trucks so I was told. Not enough CCA as required.

Look to pay $80. 00 or so w/ core trade.

2 opt's

2 optamias side by side

thats the only way to go

run 1 thru a 80 amp continues duty solinoid

they will fit

Interstate Group 31 here too!

In reality, any truck size (gp 31) battery will do. The Interstate was a bit pricey and if that's a problem, just go to any truck stop or dealer and I bet they will have a delta or a fleetrite or something for a very good price.
