Which box for me?

I have an MBRP muffler and Santa is bringing me gauges. So, my next step will be an S+B intake unless i get talked out of it. I really liked the EZ on my 03 and Edge's customer service was great.

But what is out there for my 05?



What would you get and why? I will not take it to the drag strip or sled pulls. Just want more than factory and a to smoke a few ricers!



Please explain your choice and why!

Edge comp, or bully dog will give you some moderate power... . not too much for your stock clutch.

I agree with oneshotkyle the Smarty ROCKS and the TST has a pile of room to grow! I hope to order my TST soon, OH and did i mention the Smarty ROCKS!! :-laf

I would probably get TS Performances MP-8,you will get better fuel mileage,it has good throttle response,and it will wake youre 05 up quite a bit,and wont ruin youre transmission... .

Downloaders

I have a Bully Dog Bull Pup, which gives me plenty of extra juice to play a round, but its download time is a bit slow.

My buddy has the smarty stacked with the TST Max CR, which is an awesome combo. The smarty downloads in only a couple minutes and is very capable in its own. The TST is adjustable on the fly, but the programming is most effective in the mid to higher rpm ranges.

I've driven the truck with just the smarty, I recommend this downloader for 3rd gens. the '06 and newer programs have a few glitches that the manufacturers are trying to correct.

Edge, TST, BullyDog, and Smarty all have their advantages and are great products. Most is application and preference.

If you want to buy once and have room for future intake, turbo and/or exhaust upgrades, but aren't going to race or sled pull, a Smarty is a good investment and you definitely won't be disappointed!

Smarty

I went with the SMARTY for my 05, and i love it, just like about everybody who buys's it. I think the smarty is the best engineered program out their, because Marco is constantly working on updates to make the driveability better, makeing different torque management levels for different people with different needs. Also this is the only downloader that is 100% non detectible by a dealers scan tool.



I keep mine on the lower power levels because i have a stock trans and don't want to launch it. I don't take mine to the drag strip or pull sleds either and i love it. Even on the lower power levels you get and amazing amount of smoke, awsome throttle response, and speed. I can't even imagine what the 170 hp setting would be like. You could blow a ricer away with a 3/4 ton pickup truck and leave them in a nice cancerous cloud of soot with smarty if you want too. Talk to bob wagner to order one.

You can't go wrong with either the Smarty or the TST. My big thing with the TST is the extra features and the on the fly adjustability. The snarty is great but if you want power you have it all the time. The TST has tons of room to grow and you can be sitting on economy and crank it up a little bit to blow some soot, then crank it back down for mileage. Plus, a cool down timer, boost and egt limiting, and digital gauges.



I would got TST, then, when you are ready for a clutch and a turbo, add the smarty to the mix. You'll have plenty of power, and better fuel economy.
