O. K. I have a 05 and just put on a stage 2 AFE system. Pulled about 7000lb. trailer today and It seemed a little weaker that before!! I would like to get a box to help the boost and then maybe stack on another later. Which would be best to start of with?( I,m looking at the Edge EZ) HELP

which one helps on boost? I think thats why I lost power after putting on the stage 2 kit. I'm getting too much air????

I didn't know they made boxes for starters?? I thought all you could get was a LarryB contact set:D

sorry... .

If the plan is to stack later, Look no further than the EZ or the VA C3. 1

Good hp, and then the ability to stack with a TST/Juice later when you want to get serious fuel through those exhaust ports ;)

Tomeygun,

Why would you suggest those over going straight to the TST to start? (with the thought of maybe stacking one of the others later)

honestly, because he has an 05 truck, and even with only an EZ, he will be over the ability of the stock turbo...

The TST would be good though because of the gauges, Also I would base my decision upon how much I want to spend

I have had alot of people totally happy with the EZ alone on 05 trucks, BUT stack with a TST and add a HTT KillerB2, or bigger (or other 64mm+ turbo, and tran mods/Fuel pump of course) - and your all over 500hp

SOOOO... ... My thought... ... Buy both at the same time and I'll make ya a GREAT combo deal :D :D :D :D

just what is the ability of the stock turbo? with my quadzilla, I'm seeing over 40psi, and I am wondering if that may not be a good bit past the stock turbo efficiency...

40-43 psi is about all you want to run them. The 600-610 turbos are different than the 03-04 turbos. Stock you can run 32-34 psi so we are not increasing the boost by too much.

Even that seems high, and remember boost numbers are not the only killers of stock turbos, Also backing off at that high of a boost number can break an input shaft

thanks for the replies. I am just concerned about the consequences of running the quad box (usually in the 100hp mode) for the longevity of my turbo and fuel system. Between the raised fuel pressure and added boost, I just don't want to be excessively wearing my expensive components.

I do plan on putting a FASS pump to make sure that I supply enough fuel to the injection pump.

I just got the TST from tomeygunn and after about a week of having it,here is what I came up with. Everything is awsome, but here are my opinions on it with everything stock 05 6spd except an AFE stage 1 and straight pipe

1/1 - No Noticable differenance

2/2 - Great run around mode

3/3 - about the same as 2

4/4 - small smoke and more power

5/5 - tremembous power and clouds of thin smoke but turbo cleans up

I have also tried different variations of these as well, but it seems that the equal combination works out better. 5/5 gets hot too fast and is the limit on the stock clutch. 4/4 run the hell out of it and can't get over 1350. I also have my egt backdown set at 1350.

TST is an awesome box, and I have not had one code after I fixed a half plugged in map sensor. Boost hits 36-40 on the upper levels that I tried. The standard version is great because of it not hitting the fuel until 12psi. So mileage should increase. I'd rather run the tst over pressure box until someone comes out with a hot rooded cp3 to stop rail pressure from dying.

All I want is to have a little more towing power when i have 14'000lbs behind me. I've had trucks in the past with all the hot rode modes and now that I've got that out of my system(KINDA ;) ) I just want to be able to keep my speed on hills and not blow my auto out right now,I onely have 7000 miles on it!!!!

I have had ZERO problems with my Juice Attitude. I love it! You get the gauges and backdown with it. I pulled about 8000lbs from Montana to Alaska in the #2 TOW setting and the EGT hit 1250 two times. Lots of power for hills and passing and it stays cool. And you can stack it with an EZ or something similiar later. That is my plan also.

Just my . 02

What about the ts performance box? Anyone have that one? It supposed to be pretty good.

Its not that I dont like that box, But I dont like the way you switch power levels... There really is no "levels" - It is just w switch from 0-100%, and not labeled I believe

I do hear it pulls the rail down pretty good though, So that must be some strong pressure
