Hi all,

My friend picked up an 04. 5 a little while ago. And wanted an exhaust and a box. As per the exhaust they are allready 4" correct? He does not want it real loud. and the box he was looking at the edge juice. But is there a box that is recomended more. also he doesnt't want to spend too much. Any help is always appreciated.

Marc

yes they have the 4" stock. just cut the muffler and start it up. see if he likes it. if not, through on a muffler. the TST i think would be the next step up but not sure. also don't know how much. there are cheaper ones like the ramifier, van aaken, quad, bullydog stuff and probably more.

I got the edge Juice with Attitude and love it especially if the rest of the drive train is stock, i run it on 3 and the truck humms with no codes posted.

For the box there is alot of choices. If he wants the digital gauge and a nice medium power gain go with the Edge. If he is going for power I like the TST for max power. If he is going to run analog gauges then the van Aaken box is my top choice. If he is just looking for a little towing module there is the Quad module that is really cheap but we've had good luck with them. So really it just depends on what he is looking for. Oo.

MSalvatore: I like to promote those companies or individuals who give me , what at least feels like, their undivided attention. Bryan Jolley did just that. He's with Dominator Performance Diesel and I found him through TDR which is even better. I know I am a pain in the @#$ when it comes to my truck and I asked nit picky questions but Bryan answered every single one AND added bonus... in a way that a newbie like me understood. I ordered the VA C3. 1 from Bryan. It is suppossed to be here tomorrow so I'll let you all know later how that goes! Give Bryan a call!!!

I agree with the undivided attention part, but I'd rather have that from Customer Service than from the sales department. That being said. I've got the Juice/ Attitude from Edge. Awesome product, love it, and great customer service. I since stacked it with an EZ from Edge. Love the stack, never had it by itself. But together dynoed 436 HP at the rear wheel with 315's. Now I feel the need for power and have a TST in my tool box waiting to be installed.

I'll go with you on that one Icaad249. Just as a side note and not to be argumentative, but since I placed the order with Bryan, there have been two e-mail correspondances and in both, Bryan made it clear if I had any problems or difficulties to simply let him know. What that entails I have no idea but I believe in his sincereity and feel that he has my interests in mind. Could that be for future sales? Maybe, but being treated as I have by Bryan he will at least be given the opportunity. I would also add that there was communications between Bryan and I that I won't disclose here due to their "business nature", only that Bryan was very prepared to back this sale up even if I wasn't happy with the C3. 1. I liked that. A lot! Just my . 02 cents.

I find it rude that you don't even know usand have never done businesswith us but you comment on our customer service. I assure you that we have excellent customer service and was answering a question when DaveHess asked to buy a chip. I don't now if you meant it towards us but that is what it looks like.

Bryan

Just to clear thing up, I wasn't commenting on anyone's lack or otherwise of customer service, I was stating that sales can say whatever they want to get you to buy the product. Then you buy the product and are stuck with it. I was relaying my personal experiences to try to help out a fellow TDR member. I was not trying to **** of anyone.

I am looking for personal experience. A box that you have on your truck. I can read a advertisement that is not what I am looking for. Thank you for helping with real world experience.

Thought I'd ask you a question, SLJolley. My '03 has had an Edge EZ on it for 20,000 miles or so (truck currently has 55,000 miles on it) and it got to where the engine would turn over for 8 or 10 seconds before it would start. I mentioned it to my service writer friend and he "suggested" I remove the box before letting the mechanics in back find it and report the truck to DC's "Aw ****" list, thus voiding the power train warranty. So I removed the box and the engine has started easily ever since.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? I've just left it off ever since because I don't really need the extra power anyway.

i have a 04. 5. very early build date 1-26-04 I've had the predator plug in module since less than 10,000 miles on the truck. It now has 63,000 miles on it. It has the abiltyto be shut off and on from inside the cab. with the unit on the mileage increases 1 mile per gallon and acts like stock until you accelerate quickly. then about 60 to 85 advertised horsepower. i've also stacked it with ats's downloaded power but removed download to get the mileage back. for me it works very very well. it truly is what you are looking for because this is not a TST of an EDGE unit. Predator is a true plug-n play. easy to install and remove. gauges are recommended with any power added to your stock truck. as for noise i removed the stock muffler and welded pipe at all pipe clamps the welding was suggested by my muffer shop and made a huge differance in the cab noise and will turn heads when you step on it.
