Which brand Flatbed to order?

Ok guys, gettin ready to order a flatbed. Which one is made best, Hillsboro or Eby. Any comments would be great. What brand do most of you have and how do you like it. Need to put one on because I don't have the clearance for my 5,er. Don't want to lift the camper any higher than I already have.

Is your fiver hook - up height adjustable?

Most flatbeds, with the 2 5/16ths ball, have a higher mounting point (unless mounted in a well in the bed. ) A fifth wheel plate can be mounted at any height above the bed surface. Just something to consider.

I have an EBY, first rate all the way. Having bought mine truck used with the bed already on, I have some comments. My "well" could be a little larger to better accomodate an air ride hitch system. Sounds like you just want a standard bed. I looked into making mine a dump but the frame is not heavy enough. EBY will customize to your hearts content though so by all means, check them out.

Butler flatbeds

D White, I have a Butler flatbed on mine, great workmanship, super strong design. Headache rack is 2X3 3/16 tubing formed, bed sides are 1/4 inch flat, backend is 2X2 squre tubing 3/16 formed, rubber mounted lights, trap door goose neck ball. The mounting system they use allows you to un-bolt the bed if you want it off. These guys are located in Cherokee Oklahoma the place is called Butler Welding. They do have distributors in other states. This bed is heavier made than a Hillsboro bed, I have no experience with the EBY bed, I have had 6 trucks with flatbeds and this one is the best. Sometimes their add is in the Truck Trader or Fast Line. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the comments, I will look into the Butler also. I'll try to have the well made big enough to. Want to use a B+W flatbed style, 5er hitch, It look fairly small so shouldn't need a very big well.
