A nice lady pulled out from a stop sign right in my path. I was able to swerve a bit and took the cab of her pickup just behind her drivers side door. I got her with my left front. About $6,000. 00 in damages. That was "before". I was told today that a plastic box in the left front of the engine compartment was broken and the "computer" that is there was dented. They are now replacing both. No idea what the damages are now.

My question - Which computer is located there? I am hoping for the ECM as I only get 16 MPG and maybe a new one will fare better.

Anyone know?

Thank You

I looked at mine and I was surprised to find there is some kind of small module there between the fuse block and the quarter panel. I have no idea what it is but it's not the ECM (ECM is mounted on drivers side of eng block).

Could be about anything. I got my info from the body shop tech. They say that it is one of the computers and that it is a sealed metal can and it is dented. I had no running difficulties with the truck after the accident. I even got canted enough that the A/C still worked. BTW - Thye are replacing the A/C condenser and the intercooler, both of which are OK. 1K in parts just there.
