Which DVs came stock in my truck - 1996 Auto??

I have been looking back through discussions on DVs and cannot seem to find the answer... Thanks

If it's the 175 pump than there 181's. It's real easy to check. Get a delivery valve socket and pull off 1st HP line and take valve out. The #'s are on the DV.

as far as i know the 151's were in the 175 hp pump. the 181's were in the 180 and 215 pumps and the 131's are in the 160 pumps.

OK - couple more questions 1) To remove the valves (to verify which ones I have and to swap) do you have to remove the entire set of injector lines? Or is there enough room to work by simply disconnecting them off the pump? 2)Where's the best place to get a socket - I know Piers sells them - would a local Cummins shop have them? Thanks again. .

There easy to do, take the hat off, injection lines at the pump and the two bolts out of the intake that hold the injection lines brackes so you can move them up a tad to gain clearence, just unscrew the holders and take them out with the spring that's inside then fish the DV out with a magnet, older pump(I believe) have little tin holders under the DV's, and you will(or should) have new O-rings to go on the holders they are the green ones and just put it all back togther and T/Q the holders to 85ft/lbs. I am not sure if you can get them from a local cummins shop or not. Hope this helps.

Thanks RBratby - I was hoping you could do the DVs without removing the entire fuel line assembly. I will get a DV socket and pull one (as recommended by CMorrow) to see what I have - if there not the 181s I think I'm going to go with a new set of 191s.

Might be 151's but who knows

I must have been asleep, there 181's. If you still feel like buying 191's the 181's will be easy to move to the little pump guys. Piers has the 191's and the DV sockets too.

Thanks guys - the 370s seem do be doing fine so I "kinda" figured that I must have the 181s... After I get more air (new turbo setup) I may step up to the 191s - we'll see. .

Thanks again for all the help... Jack
