I have a 2005 3500 with the CTD and the engine sticker on the engine itself says only that it is 325 hp. The build date is 9/14/04, and the truck was built in 10/04. Do I have an 04. 5? Is it the 600 or 610 torque engine? I hear the new Duracr_p is punching out 360 hp and 650 lb ft of torque! Watch out cummins!

If your truck is a 2005 model, then it is not a 2004. 5, but it may have the 600 engine. The 610 engine was introduced a few months after the start of the 2005 model year. I'm not sure how to tell if it's a 600 or 610 since the engine label only shows the HP. Some members have suggested that the only difference between a 600 and 610 is the width of the pen used to make the graph.

I have a 2005 that I bought in November 2004. It's a 600. I agree with the other guy, you'll never know the difference. Mine pulls like a freight train.

The window sticker will tell you what it is.
