So which exhaust have you all tried that had the least drone. The stock muffler on my 97' is rattling and need a whole exhaust. Was thinking along the lines of a Magnaflow turbo back system. . Thx

Exhaust

I've used a "4" Jardine turboback for years now. No appreciable drone at all with supplied Magnaflow muffler. Sawsall that stock one off and grab a friend and replace it. There's a number of advertisers in the TDR now with them.

Some on here poke fun at the name, but the Aeroturbines DO work really well with nothing else but straight pipe the rest of the way out. Mount it right at the bottom of the downpipe and it will work and sound excellent. I had this setup on my '04 and got bunches of comments on it .

PorterS. I posted a thread on the 2nd Gen (no engine/transmission) forum that I mis-labeled Pro Flo exhaust. It's actually Flo Pro. A 4" turbo back with a hollow core muffler. There is no drone and the system is not expensive. I believe it's a spin-off of Walker Mufflers. The exhaust sound is great too. I like stacks also, but use my camper cover too much to give it up.

I just put a 4" 409 stainless Magnaflow turbo back on my '01.

I don't know that I have heard a drone at all. .

I am quite happy with the unit. paid like $399 + S&H

Thx for the replies... I actually just priced that same Magnaflow 409 system. . A friend owns an exhaust shop and can get it for me for 330 bux. He also has a used Aeroturbine on the shelf. I'm thinking about picking up the Magnaflow system and running the Aeroturbine ahead of the Magnaflow muffler if it's too loud for my tastes. I've owned a 95' with straight exhaust, an 03 with a Magnaflow system and a 97 with a Dynomax stainless ultraflow system. The straight exhaust actually had the least drone... The 03 was the worst right at 2k rpm. Shouldn't be any drone at all with this new Magnaflow system with the addition of the Aeroturbine... I hope. I guess I'm just getting old. . Like em' a little quieter now :D Makes for a more comfortable ride buzzing down the freeway.

Tom, if you don't mind me asking, how much did that system set you back?

Thx Scott
