Which Flowmaster To Buy?

So which one? I am tired of the straight pipe noise. I find myself lugging the truck with trailer way to much in small towns trying like hell not to let the local cops hear me. Now its time for a FlowMaster, I have been reading Flowmasters website a little bit. But I do recall some heated discussions a while back about which muffler to use. Dual, Single chambers who gets the nod here? The 40 series says its good up to 1000 hp Oo.

I wouldnt put a chambered muffler on a diesel. Would probably hurt performance.

I second that. I have had an experience with the flowmaster on my 2001 24vlave motor. I would find a nice stright thru design muffler.

I've been running a single chamber since my truck was new... only 133,00 on it now. . no problems. . but I had the muffler before I bought the truck. . (left over from a gasser project. ) I like the size of the muffler. . but if I was going to buy one. . I would look at the straight through mufflers...

I am not seeing what kind of problems could be generated by a muffler design that can handle 1000 hp. The flow masters i have seen (heard) on gassers, generally on the 1/4 mile track seem to perform exceptionally well. What is it about the design that the diesel folks dont agree with?



Who makes a good straight through muffler?

The baffle plates inside the muffler cause exhaust pulses that affect turbo spool up.
