Which Fords w/ Cummins Motor.

What models and years have the Cummins engine? What kind of transmission do they run? Any four-wheel drive models?

You are only going to find the Cummins in there larger trucks F-650 and above.

No 8. 3L in the new F650 and F750 trucks. THe older F800s and such had 5. 9s and 8. 3s.

I've been thinking of a truck with an 8. 3 also to build a real hauler. I'm told there are no single countershaft trannies w/8. 3. Only Allisons and two countershaft trans - 9spds, 10 spds etc. Craig

I had a '93 L8000 in the shop a while back with an mechanical 8. 3 an a Spicer 6-speed manual in it. Worked great. The engine was a 300HP version, and naturally I had to "tweak" it a little. Heh, heh, heh...

Good, that sounds more promising! I was told none of the single countershafts will take the tq. of an 8. 3. A 6 or 7 sp would be fine with me. Craig
