I was curious how accurate is the Westach Fuel Pressure Gauge kit that Geno's sells? Am I better off going with Briar Hopper's Gauge? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

You're dealing with 2 different animals. Briar Hopper's is a mechanical "test gauge" and the Westach setup is a permanent gauge you'd have in your cab.

Ideally, you'd have both, right now I just have the Briar Hopper and I keep it in the truck in case something doesn't seem right I can hook it up and take a look (takes longer to get it out of the ziplock bag I have it in then to screw it into the schrader valve on top of my fuel filter).

We used it on my neighbors CTD this past weekend to determine that his LP was dead (he didn't believe me until we plugged the gauge back into my truck and immediately got 15psi).

I have the Auto-meter z-series mechanical gauge on mine post filter (easy to do on the 99's) and a mechanical guage with a grease gun hose mounted under the hood pre filter, the Auto-meter gauge has an isolator that mounts under the hood and a steel braided line filled with a special oil that goes into the cab, it seems to work fine for me.

Bob,

I have no answers but a couple of questions.

Did you ever change the oil in your transfer case per Dodge's scheduled maintenance, and also did you regularly use your

4 x engaged on dry surfaces, or just on wet and/or slippery roads.

Or did you not use your rig in 4x at all for long stretches?

Just curious as I have a similar setup. I have a theory about this but will not comment until I get more feedback.
