HA! Any time I hit 3000 rpm, I get a wedgee from my seat cover. Besides, its my daily driver.



Another question: I had the head milled and they took around . 005 off. The cometic gasket was . 010 thicker than the stock one. That puts my compression lower than stock.



Would this cause a loss at the top?
 
nah, shouldn't any power loss... I wouldn't push that Cometic gasket too hard though :eek:



these engines will take 4,000 no problem. With stock valvesprings as long as you keep it below 3500 or so, you'll be just fine
 
I have a '98 with #5 plate. This was recommended by TST. I wanted mostly low end power for plowing snow. I also cranked the rod forward to get more out of it. I have 4" straight pipe, Stage II air filter and BD valve body in the auto transmission. I'm extremely happy with the power in this truck. Acceleration from 0 to 60 is phenomenal. I was advised by TST not to do anything else, and they were right.
