Barry Grant 220. About $10 more than the mallory. I went with it after I heard some people having trouble with Mallory. Mine works great, can hardly hear it, got it set at 13 psi, have yet to see it dip below 11psi. Comes with the regulator (more like a bypass valve since it doesnt restrict flow. Instead it transfers excess fuel back to the tank via a return line. I guess the restriction on the pumps is pretty hard on them. ) that must be used, because at 220 gallons per hour, the pressure is way too high to run unregulated.

I installed a mallory 4140M today. I did not hook up the regulator today, at idle it puts out 11-12psi, and at WOT it was down around 9-10psi. Going to run it a while with this hookup and see how it does and see if I need to put the regulator in.

Well, I just put in the Holley hly12-815, in the OEM location, & upgraded lines last night and just got back from a 30 minute test drive and I'm not impressed at all--last night it idled at 10-11 psi(pressure sender at post filter) and I thought great as it was steady(factory would jump from 9-14 psi)--this morning went for about a 10-15 minute test drive and got a low of 7 @ WOT, but it went right back up to 10-11 psi when I backed off--ok not bad I thought, definitely a lot better than the low of 2 psi w/ the factory pump. With the factory pump the psi would jump from 7-11 w/ the red light flashing on my guage saying it had dipped to below 5psi under normal conditions. So, tonight everything is just like this morning's test until I turn off the overdrive and under WOT 4psi--now with the OD turned on it jumps between 5-9psi and the red light flashes more than the red lights in the red light district in Amsterdam--I'm PI$$ED--don't know if I got a factory POS or these pumps are just POS's to begin with!!! Anyone have some insight?--chris

Scott give me until next weekend and I can give you a report on the one I am installing. It's a Summit pump, 140gph @ 18psi, $99. 99. I have never seen a Holley 815, nor am I an expert on fuel pumps, but just holding the Summit in your hand it feels like a solid, heavy piece that is very well constructed. It is twice the size of the OEM Carter.
