First post on the TDR forum- Just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 (see sig. ). The truck runs great, but the digital fuel pressure gauge connected to the VP 44 fuel inlet shows 10 psi at idle and as low as 3 psi at WOT. These numbers just don't seem to be good enough for the injection pump to last. So the main question is which aftermarket fuel system should I go with. The truck is bone stock, but in the future I hope to change that. Looking for a fuel system that would be for a Hi-Perf. engine. I'd rather spend the money and go overkill than save money and redo it later. Which fuel system should I get? Thanks in advance.

I recommend the GFS-392 from Glacier Diesel Performance, price is fair, the product is great and the customer service top notch. It will flow enough fuel for anything you want to do.

you have a multitude of options and everyone believes in the one they have on their truck---some are original and other's are copied systems using less expensive parts---so do your research and do it well--and it doesn't hurt to ask a ton of questions--some will berate you for it and others will help--good luck----chris

here's a few that are out there---in no particular order

MITUSA

RASP

Glacier

FASS 150 or 90

Air Dog

and then the myriad of electric pumps

I haven't run the full gammit of fuel options but if you have the cash to blow, the rasp, mitusa, or glaciers new mech pump setup with the oem as backup seems like a good plan. The (3) mentioned above all utilize the oem electric as backup in case of belt failure on the mech pump.

I personally am running the Walbro 392 & it has been performing flawlessly thus far with a rock hard 16 psi since August of last year FWIW.

Do some research & make a decision based on facts. Lots of opinions on the boards. Good luck!

For your present system. Since your pressure reading is at the VP you may just need to change your fuel filter.
