2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Which gauges should I get?

I am getting ready to buy pyrometer and boost gauges for my truck. I am going to buy autometers but I can't decide which ones to get. I have narrowed it down to the ultra lites, phantom, or lunar series. I was wondering which ones you guys liked the best. I was also wondering how they looked(how bright) they are at night and if the lunars are that much better than the others at night.

I like the Autometer C2's. . Very sharp look, and even better at night time! Just my $. 02 worth.

I like the C2 gauges but they are a little out of my price range. If I remember right, the boost gauge alone is $200.

I've heard that the Dipricol's don't look as good as the Autometers at night but I haven't seen a pair in person.

I have a Autometer Ultralite boost gauge mounted on my hood which I use a FP gauge. It's been there for a few years now and still works flawlessly. The AM has perimter lighting which isn't great but I have no problem reading it through my windshield so it shouldn't be a problem inside the cab.



The DiP's have better lighting IMHO, with the exception of the EGT gauge. I have the DiP oil temp, boost and egt inside the cab. The oil temp and boost have great lighting and a illuminated needle, the egt gauge doesn't have a illuminated needle and it's a bit harder to read. Might be dating myself here somewhat as my DiP gauges are 4 years old now, perhaps they have updated the egt gauge. Regardless, they work very well. Have not even replaced a bulb in them to date.

i was going to get some ultralights but then i read that they wearnt very good at night. i went with the isspro white faces from genoes and love the so far. awsome visibility at night.

i agree. its a pretty close match to the factory gauge cluster during the day, and real easy on the eyes at night. there lit up very well.

I have had Auto Meter Ultra Lites and now I have Phantom's in my new truck.



Both are very easy to read at night, even my Phantoms with the green bulb covers on. Never had a minutes trouble out of my Ultra Lites in my previous truck.

I put Autometer ultralites in my Jeep and always disliked the way they looked at night. Just illuminated by a bulb and looked kinda cheap. In my Dodge, I have Autometer Lunar gauges and I LOVE them. They look way cool at night and are white faced in the daylight. They seemed a little bright at first but I think it was because I just wasn't used to the new light coming from the pillar. The glo also matched the factory gauge backlighting perfectly and they are also hooked up to my dimmer so if I want to dim them a bit, I can. I don't have experience with the others but I do love the Lunar Series.

I had both pyro and boost ultra lites in my truck when I bought it. Like others have said not good at night. I just installed a Isspro EV 100#boost gauge 2 nights ago because of my impending turbo upgrade next week and it is 100% better to see especially at night. If I can get to it, I will take a picture because the ultra lite pyro is still installed and the difference is significant.



I dont know about performance, everyone has their opinion I guess, but make sure you get one thats good at night, I couldnt beleive the difference the Isspro made. I also bought the pyro but havent had time to install.
