This being my 4th Dodge I have been customizing it slowly as I found exactly what I wanted, although It's time for a grill guard and I can't find one I really like. A perfect grill guard would be just a guard not a replacement, heavy duty like a Ranch Hand but stainless or chrome. I have found several replacements that I could get in stainless but I think thats too much "BLING",

so I need some help. Let me know if there is anything out there. It's for my 2008 Mega Cab

From what I have seen, most grill gaurds are nothing but cosmetic these days (I'm sure there are some exceptions). I had a SmittyBilt Outland Sport Bumper Guard on my '01 which was the sturdiest that I could find at the time. Unfortunately, it deflected a deer one morning, and though saving me a ton of damage to the front end, it too, took a bit of a beating. I feel the best protection is probably getting a front bumper/gaurd combination. Buckstop really impressed me and I have been really happy with it over the years--it hangsd on to my 15,000-lb. winch no problem.

From what I have seen on the market (I've been lookin' for 2 years for our 06 Mega) most are just for looks for the country club set. Many I've looked at look like they will cause more damage than if you caught a deer or other large animal. I keep going back to Ranch Hand, but the $$ for chrome keep my hand keeps slippin' off my wallet - - BUT I think it will be a Ranch Hand this spring when we start running in West Texas

I had a full replacement on my '99 and I loved it, I used to think those bolt on grill guards were just for looks too until a friend on mine got stuck in his '04 dodge 3500 with a 4 horse trailer tied to it, when I went to pull him out he wanted to throw the chain around his bolten on ranch hand grill guard I thought he was crazy but jerk after jerk we got him out and never even moved that grill guard. (IMPRESSED) Buckstop makes a nice combo if I want to go get a loan. I guess I will keep looking. Thanks

Here a photo of my Push Bar and Grill Guard. May not stop a bear, but you can push a car with it.

Those are good looking DDT, I just can't figure out where these people get there grill guards or full replacements that are in stainless or chrome that are heavy duty. I have seen so many replacements that are stainless and they look really good.
