well, i think that i am ready for the next bombing run. i have a new fuel pump and bigger banjo bolts on order. i am interested in a set of mild injectors to compliment the fueling box. here are my questions. Which ones smoke more, and which make more real world difference as far as power goes. i don't think that i want to get wild with huge injectors because i wish to keep my truck extremely reliable, albeit the clutch. any input would be helpful.

smoke ???? whats a little smoke between friends ????

dd1's make more power than the 275's , soke ? that depends on your box , i was able to get some smoke with 275's and a VA , never tryed them with an EZ .

more power

the DD1's have more than the 275's. Remember that if you install either set that you will want to add a boost module kit at the minimum (allows more fuel to injectors and ups the boost) or box for even more fun.

No smoke with my 275's and PS boost kit.

DD I's make more power than 275's, they also smoke more. When it comes to injectors it's pretty simple, more power=more smoke. Boxes are a different story because different boxes add fuel at different boost levels (the worst smokers are the ones that add fuel with no boost). JMHO

What do you think the difference is?

Is it the size or rating of the injectors or quality of spray or what?

I'm looking to get Injectors (possibly JRE) and exhaust (JRE 4") and want to see who's injectors I should use for maximum efficiency and Fuel mileage?

DD1's are a matched set. That means their pop off pressure and spray is within a close tolerance. Theoretically, this should result in better performance and smoother engine.

I've got over 13,000 miles on my DD1's and I'm very happy with

them.

Go with Diesel Dynamics more power for the money and do not forget to tell them when ordering you are a TDR member. You get 20% off with your membership #. :D . Sam.

How can that be???? I always heard the DD2's produced lower EGT's because of the spray pattern, but was told it produced more

smoke than the DD1's.

I wondered the same thing. I shouldn't say they smoke less but produce no more smoke than the 275's did on my truck, but with more power.

The reason I ask the difference is the JRE injectors are supposed to be matched as well and comes in 3 stages ( I, II, III). I wonder if these are the same and JRE's reselling them?

I guess that is a good possibility. The DD injectors do not have any markings so it would be easy to re-package and re-sell as your own brand... I hope someone can confirm.

Bob,

Yes, I can feel a big difference, I don't hear much about the VA with DD2's as 275's but in my opinion it's a great combo. awesome low end tourque.

Good Dyno graph from DD :) The purple are the 275's. I'd say about 20 Hp more than the 275's. Remember to use your 20% discount for being a TDR member. DD has the 275's also. You could get them for $240 + $100 core charge? w/ your discount. :)

I agree that 275's smoke more than dd2's. I drove 24V-DSL's truck at Timberline and he has the DD2's and Edge EZ, and I have the same. Both of us were in setting 3 and mine smokes much more than his did.

Ok MBUCCI - what did it do to your EGT's and boost. Is this a safe tow combo and just how fast will it trash a stock clutch?

My wife will kill me if I get more toys... ... :D

Personally, I'm glad I went with the 275's. I'll get more useful life out of my stock clutch. I think I would have been fine with DD1's, but I'll start small and work up if the bug keeps biting me :D

BOMB on!!!!

David,

Have not towed yet with this combo. Hopefully it will still be ok EGT wise as it was with the 275's. EGT's driving empty are pretty much the same. Boost around 35lbs. I'm trying to get the most power and still tow with EGT's in check. I am already serching for a clutch which I noticed slipping after the 275's and now more with the DD2's. I've read South Bend makes a nice setup.
